Abstract
Marriage rituals in tribal societies reflect their cultural and social structures, while regional fiction provides a valuable context for exploring these cultures anthropologically. This study examines the marriage rituals of the Qashqai tribe through fiction, focusing on the novels Zolmat, Mehri, and Mahi Noghreai. It aims to examine how marriage rituals and their related cultural and social components are represented in these works. The research is descriptive-analytical and based on documentary and library studies. The findings show that marriage rituals are represented as a multidimensional phenomenon connected to family structure, social and economic relations, and the value system of Qashqai society. The role of families and elders, traditional customs and rituals, and the influence of social status and kinship relations on marriage are among the prominent components. The findings also indicate that collective traditions sometimes conflict with individual desires and choices, creating narrative tensions. Overall, the novels portray aspects of traditional Qashqai culture and society and the challenges individuals face in confronting collective norms and traditions.
